ESPN Records New World Cup Theme at Ocean Way

ESPN, the World Wide Leader in Sports, is already preparing for one of the planet’s most anticipated sporting events: the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The new ESPN World Cup theme music was recorded in Ocean Way’s famed Studio A with trumpeter Wayne Bergeron and percussion virtuoso Alex Acuna with Lisle Moore, composer/producer; Bryan Hofheins, CCO Warner Chappelle / NonStop Music, and Claude Mitchell, ESPN Coordinating Director of Music.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be the 20th FIFA World Cup international football tournament scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July 2014. This is the second time Brazil has hosted the competition. Brazil will become the fifth country to have hosted the FIFA World Cup twice, after Mexico, Italy, France and Germany.

It is scheduled to be the first World Cup to be held in South America since the 1978 FIFA World Cup in Argentina, the first time two consecutive World Cups are staged outside Europe and the first time two consecutive World Cups are staged in the Southern Hemisphere (the 2010 FIFA World Cup was held in South Africa. Spain is the defending champion having won FIFA World Cup 2010 defeating the Netherlands in the final. The sale of tickets for the World Cup will start on 20 August 2013. An estimated 3.3 million tickets will be available.
