Hip-Hop Legend DJ Premier Headlines for Stanton at DJ Expo 2013

Additional Featured Performers Include Biz Markie, DJ Miss Joy, and DJ Serafin

Stanton® DJ, a part of the Gibson® Pro Audio Division, is once again bringing the future of DJ gear and talent to DJ Expo 2013 in Atlantic City, NJ, August 13-15. Three-time Grammy Award winner, hip-hop legend, and Stanton headliner DJ Premier will kick off this year’s stellar roster of events on Tuesday, August 13 at 3:30 p.m. by spinning on Stanton’s STR8.150 Turntables at booth #500. There will be additional appearances throughout the show by leading Stanton artists Biz Markie, DJ Miss Joy and DJ Serafin showcasing the unique SCS4.DJ USB Mixstation.

DJ Premier, part of the seminal hip-hop duo Gang Starr, has lent his signature style—which seamlessly melds jazz, funk and soul samples—to some of music’s biggest stars, including Jay-Z, Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, Janet Jackson, The Notorious B.I.G, KRS-One and Rakim. The owner of Year Round Records and producer of over 100 tracks, DJ Premier’s recent projects include Year Round Records’ artist NYGz’s Hustlaz Union: Local NYG and The Game’s Jesus Piece. Upcoming projects include a full album for the rapper Nas.

Like DJ Premier, Stanton’s STR8.150 delivers the kind of classic sound that spawned the hip-hop generation. Featuring a skip-proof straight tone arm, industry-leading torque motor and ultra-stable platter, key correction, reverse capabilities, S/PDIF digital out and 50 percent pitch adjustment, the crowning touch is a super-durable base that minimizes feedback.

Famed New York beat-boxer, producer and hip-hop artist Biz Markie; along with DJ Miss Joy resident DJ for the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas; and DJ Serafin, one of the top 10 remixers of all time, who’s worked with Livvi Frank, Jordin Sparks and Britney Spears, will all be working their magic with the innovative SCS4.DJ USB Mixstation. Leave your laptop at home: the SCS4.DJ’s heavy-duty internal processing power, coupled with a high-resolution color display, means that DJs from hip-hop to hardcore can simply plug in a storage device and start mixing using the built-in decks, mixer and effects—no computer required.
