Sommer Introduces New SYSCAT4 Stage/Event Cable
Sommer Cable is now shipping its new SYSCAT4 cable series, setting new standards in stage and event technology. This innovative product family enables the reliable transmission of up to four analog or eight digital AES/EBU or DMX signals over distances of up to 100 meters / 110 yards using stage-compatible CAT cables.

At the center of the SYSCAT4 series is a highly developed fan-out adapter. This consists of the robust and compact HI-HOUSING metal housing, which contains an integrated EtherCON RJ45 full metal panel jack and a stable cable gland. The adapter is combined with a 50 cm. / 20 in. long 4-way fan-out made from the flexible and robust SC-Semicolon 2 digital patch cable and equipped with Neutrik or HICON XLR connectors. The channel assignment is clearly labelled on the connectors to ensure quick and easy handling.
The SYSCAT4 series also includes matching floor stage boxes with EtherCON NE8FDV connectors, which offer four XLR 3-pin female and male connectors in parallel. There are also 19′ patch units in the SYSPANEL housing, which enable a high packing density on just 1 U. These offer space for 18 connections (2 x EtherCON NE8FDV <> 2 x 4 x XLR 3-pin female + male in parallel) as well as an additional connection option via the 14-pin flat-ribbon SYSBOXX cable system.
