Audient celebrates 10 years in business by announcing the ASP8024 S analog console (pictured), a special version of the ASP8024. The new console features a custom modification to the mix bus amps, providing a discrete amplifier stage based around the Jensen 990 op amp design. The basic circuit was developed by Deane Jensen. The ASP8024 S offers metallic charcoal trims, black-ash armrest, classic Sifam knobs and blue LED Cut buttons.
Audient also announces the Black Series rack for providing high quality A/D conversion for the ASP8024. Featuring Audient’s proprietary low-jitter PLL circuitry, the Black A/D converter option is available in 8-channel or 16-channel versions and provides two AES, S/PDIF coaxial and S/PDIF optical connectors for each channel.
To complement the A/D option, the converter rack also has space to include the optional Black Time Machine, a new module that provides a high performance, low-jitter master word clock. The Time Machine features sample rates of up to 192 kHz and distributes word clock to each A/D converter via a specially optimized bus. The Black A/D converter connects to the console via a supplied multiport connector.
