Atlantic Records Band Shadows Fall Hits the Studio

Grammy-nominated band Shadows Fall is currently in the studio recording their highly anticipated major label debut for Atlantic Records with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Stone Sour, Rush). The still untitled project is the band’s follow-up to its critically acclaimed 2004 release, The War Within, and its companion 2006 release, Fallout From the War, both released on Century Media Records.

Based in Springfield, Mass., Shadows Fall comprises Brian Fair (vocals), Jon Donais (guitar), Matt Bachand (guitar), Paul Romanko (bass) and Jason Bittner (drums).

After headlining this summer’s Strhess Tour with such supporting acts as Suffocation and Poison the Well, Shadows Fall headed back to their rehearsal space to begin pre-production. On September 18, the band entered Studio 606 in Northridge, Calif. to begin recording.

“I cannot wait to finally get this started!” says singer Brian Fair. “We have been working on these songs for the past few months in the practice space and are ready to lay them down in the studio. Pre-production with Nick has been amazing. He is definitely on the same page as us, musically and personally. He is a lifelong fan of metal but also has a great understanding of rock ’n’ roll, which complements our style and sound perfectly.”

“I’ve wanted to work with this band for years and had to bug the hell out of them until they said yes,” says Raskulinecz. “We’re going to tighten the songs so that every riff, every lyric, every drum hit counts on this record, and really focus on the songwriting to make it a force to be dealt with.”
