Berlin, Germany (May 5, 2021)–German directional loudspeaker specialist Holoplot has introduced its new X1 product line, intended for providing localized and immersive audio in applications such as large conferences, concerts, venues, theme parks and immersive installations.

The new line is based around the X1 Modul 96 full-range and the X1 Modul 80-S + sub loudspeakers, both of which tie into the company’s proprietary 3D Beamforming and wavefield synthesis technologies. According to Holoplot, its 3D Beamforming technology allows users to adjust the direction and size of the soundfield, create multiple audio zones and play different content at the same time, all from the same loudspeaker array, while its wavefield synthesis technology can be used to recreate audio objects and move them in real-time throughout a space.

The result is a technology that in an immersive setting would let listeners move in a space and hear different things, or conversely, could provide a ‘center of the sweet spot’ audio experience for multiple listeners—a situation that would aid audibility in a conference or house of worship.

The X1 modules (loudspeakers) have up to 96 individually amplified drivers, including 80 silk dome tweeters per cabinet, and is part of a larger ‘smart system’ based around the company’s software, combined with IoT capabilities and Cloud connectivity functions to aid system planning, operation and maintenance, due to the various software applications provided.

Holoplot envisions its X1 speakers being used in “Matrix Arrays”—matrix configurations of arbitrary scale depending on the application, used as building blocks to create custom solutions for each project.
