Yamaha Debuts Nexo 45 N-12 Line Monitor

Buena Park, CA (October 1, 2010)--Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems has debuted its Nexo 45 N-12 12-inch arrayable line monitor.

Buena Park, CA (October 1, 2010)–Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems has debuted its Nexo 45 N-12 12-inch arrayable line monitor.

The unit is 19 3/8-inches wide, 22 5/8-inches deep, 15 7/16-inches high and weighs 62 lbs. The arrayable line monitor is very small, but, according to the company, its high SPL output covers almost all stage monitoring requirements.

The Nexo 45 N-12 reportedly provides a higher SPL from the cabinet before feedback and sharp side attenuation. Coverage and SPL are now scalable. It has a frequency response of 55 Hz-19 kHz ±3 dB with 30-degree horizontal coverage, 22.5-degree diagonal (Coupling Plane) coverage and asymmetrical vertical coverage of 60 degrees constant level from zero to 8 feet. A single unit has a peak SPL of 140 dB, passive/active internal switching mode. In passive mode, 1,000-1,600 W is recommended at 8 Ω, in active mode the 8 Ω LF is 900-1,400 W and the 16 Ω HF is 300-450 W.

“The new NEXO 45 N-12 is unique in that it is an all-in-one reference monitor and dedicated floor monitor,” states Albert Cardenas, acoustic systems manager, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems. “Its dedicated coverage is significant because it has been designed so that there is no interference by other monitors in the same stage setting.”

The 45 N-12 is made of Baltic Birch ply with black, textured coating; two NL4 speaker connectors; four handles on the front, rear and sides; and integrated magnets for mechanical locking of multiple cabinets.

The Nexo 45 N-12 will be available December 2010.
