A lot of ink will be printed and tweets will be sent over the coming weeks on the new technologies and product announcements coming out of the October AES Show, held at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York October 17-20.
Thomas Dolby, now an educator at the Peabody Conservatory as well as a gifted artist, kicked off the show with a keynote speech on “The Conscious Sound,” and the exhibits portion of the show ended Friday with sound reinforcement pioneer John Meyer delivering the Richard C. Heyser Memorial Lecture, entitled “Taking the Room Out of the Loudspeaker: New Tools for Transparent Reproduction.” In between, downstairs in the demo rooms, the education portion of AES held sway, with a multitude of papers and sessions presented to attendees.
Here are some photos from a few of our favorite sessions.
