Aviom, Yamaha to Assist in Technical Training Seminars

Armando Fullwood, president of Design 2020 Inc. and an instructor of technical training seminars, recently added Aviom personal monitor mixing systems and Yamaha’s digital mixing consoles (01V and DM2000) to the program’s curriculum.

Fullwood has been teaching seminars since 1997. The seminars, which cater to the house-of-worship market, now number anywhere from 75 to 150 attendees per class, and routinely attract church technical directors and various church end-users. This year, Fullwood has been using Aviom’s personal monitor mixing systems and Yamaha’s digital desk with Aviom’s Y1 A-Net output card to help teach the mixing process.

“I use the Aviom systems for all of my design projects,” says Fullwood. “Naturally, when I began teaching at seminars, employing the personal mixers was a logical choice. Much of the time, because the attendees have varying levels of experience, I have to start with the basics. The personal mixer is not only the best monitor mixer for achieving great sound, but it’s also very easy and intuitive to use, which makes my job of teaching the mixing process that much easier.

“Aviom’s personal mixers have a great signal-to-noise ratio and a great sound coming out of the box with a lot of headroom,” continues Fullwood. “But what really sets the Aviom products apart from the competition is their tech support and service. When you put together a combination of a great product with great support, then you have a company that has found the winning formula.”
