DPA 4071 Miniature Microphone Configuration Update

A new configuration of the DPA 4071 Miniature Microphone for the broadcast market includes a special adapter that can provide 3dB attenuation around 800 Hz to make vocal recordings sound appreciably clearer with more presence.

The EMK4071 Microphone Kit for ENG and EFP applications will include the new DAD6024 Adapter and a range of accessories with the 4071, a miniature mic particularly suited to chest-worn applications. The 4071 is acoustically pre-equalized, offering a built-in presence with a permanent 5dB “soft” boost at 4 to 6 kHz.

Although almost every broadcast engineer would add the presence boost and midrange attenuation at the console, DPA’s designers have incorporated them into the capsule and adapter so that recordings can go directly into camera or on-air without an editing process.

The DAD6024 Adapter is available individually or as part of the EMK4071 Microphone Kit for ENG/EFP.
