IndiMusic Marks First Anniversary

IndiMusic Studios, a recording studio and soundstage on Long Island near New York City, recently celebrated it first anniversary.

Ronkonkoma, NY (August 25, 2015)—IndiMusic Studios, a recording studio and soundstage on Long Island near New York City, recently celebrated it first anniversary.

The facility is a sister company of IndiMusic TV, which streams 24/7 on the web, and on Comcast, FiOS, DISH, and Amazon Fire starting next month. Both synergistic businesses are owned by Chris Pati, whose 30-year music industry background includes recording, producing and arranging charting records for artists such as Sheena Easton, Michael Damian and The Isley Brothers, as well as performing with and alongside the likes of Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits, Josh Groban, Smokey Robinson, Bon Jovi and Peter Frampton.

In July 2014, IndiMusic Studios moved into its 4,500-square-foot facility, of which 1,000 square feet is devoted to a soundstage. Recording gear onsite includes a Tascam DM-4800 console and a variety of microphones, with AKGs, Sennheisers and Shures among them. The recording studio marks the fourth Pati has built since 1980, starting with Backdoor Recording in Huntington, NY when he was still a teenager.

“We are equipped with every tool necessary to make a high-quality product from the recording stage right up to the final mixdown,” Pati said. Noting that musicians these days are usually equipped to record at home with a laptop, Pro Tools or some kind of digital audio workstation, he asked rhetorically, “Why in the world would anyone start a recording studio in 2015?” Pati believes musicians recording at home often find the results lacking in drums and a quality piano, which is why a centerpiece of the studio is a Kimball Viennese Classic Baby Grand. “Anyone in the piano world will tell you it’s a rare gem,” says Pati.
