Aphex in Burbank, Calif., is now shipping the Microphone X cardioid condenser USB microphone ($TBA) that comes with integrated analog processing, including optical compression and Aural Exciter, Big Bottom, and HeadPod 4 technology.
The company states that the Microphone X is configured to put all of the key analog processing used for recording the voice before the conversion to digital for an optimized signal into a DAW via USB. This processing power is controllable, with input trim, headphone output level and individual controls for the Aural Exciter and Big Bottom levels. Each of the processors has its own on/off control. Users record an optimized signal into a DAW via USB.
