JBL Professional introduced the Control 1 Pro two-way compact loudspeaker at the 2006 AES convention in San Francisco. The company states that it re-engineered the Control 1 Pro to provide a smoother frequency response and more even coverage for a variety of near-field applications. The JBL Professional Control 1 Pro now ships with an included mounting bracket for easy installation against any flat surface when desired.
With monitor-grade high and low-frequency drivers, the Control 1 Pro’s updated crossover network design is said to provide steeper crossover slopes for exceptional sonic performance and improved consistency throughout the listening area. In addition, SonicGuard overload protection has been enhanced to provide better full-range protection of the transducers and network against excessive power surges from the amplifier, while still offering 150 watts continuous power handling capability.
The Control 1 Pro’s rugged and durable molded enclosure houses magnetically shielded transducers for use with video and computer monitors, or other magnetically sensitive equipment. The Control 1 Pro’s compact profile is designed for use with computer workstations, mobile audio-video control rooms, and recording and commercial sound environments. The Control 1 Pro is available in black or white finishes.
