Meyer Sound brought its long-running worldwide professional training program to Hamburg, Germany with a seminar on the SIM 3 audio analyzer and its source-independent measurement system. The four-day interactive event, titled “SIM 3 Training and System Design,” drew 40 audio professionals from varied backgrounds, including the touring, theater and AV installation markets. The intensive sessions were presented in English by Mauricio “Magu” Ramirez, Meyer Sound’s senior seminar technical instructor.
Seminar logistics were coordinated by Meyer Sound’s German office and the event’s co-host, Klaus Rahe of Procon Event Engineering, a leading sound rental firm headquartered in Hamburg. The actual site for the sessions was a studio at CINETEC, a local television production facility.
The seminar is an in-depth, intensive program that provides participants with both a thorough theoretical and operational understanding of SIM measurement, along with a solid grounding in how SIM analysis applies to the design of complex audio systems.
“I learned a lot and really took advantage of Mauricio’s deep knowledge as he trained us for four days in acoustic fundamentals, system design, and how to correctly make measurements using the SIM 3 analyzer,” says Rüdiger Hayk of Soundworks Elektroakustik. “Now I’m keen to put my new knowledge to practical use in the field. Thank you very, very much for making this happen.”
The SIM 3 seminar is one of eight high-level professional training classes staged by Meyer Sound on an ongoing basis at locations all around the globe. The seminars cover a broad range of topics of interest to sound reinforcement practitioners, including system design, line array principles, and, most recently, mixing techniques.
