Neutrik Donates Connectors to Floating Theatre Company

Neutrik, designers and manufacturers of the “XX” series XLR cable connector, recently became sponsors for the Caravan Stage Tall Ship Theatre Company, a floating theater that will be touring through European waters in the upcoming months.

“Neutrik is thrilled to be a part of such a unique adventure,” stated Jim Cowan, president of Neutrik USA. “Neutrik supports all areas of music and theater, and we are very happy to be able to help produce such a wonderful and creative concept.”

The Caravan Stage Tall Ship Theatre has a 35-year history of bringing contemporary theatre to audiences in North America. The Three Year European Waters Tour will take the floating theater, the ship — the AMARA ZEE — and the new play, “Vanishing Currents,” to 10 venues in the Netherlands and Belgium. In 2006, the Caravan will be making trips to Germany for the World Cup in Hamburg, England and Ireland, followed by a voyage to the Baltic countries in 2007.

In preparation for the European Waters Tour, the Caravan replaced all of the audio connectors in its sound system with Neutrik connectors. Neutrik donated the following connectors to be used on the Caravan Tall Ship: 50 – NC3FX-B’s, 50- NC3MX-B’s, 20- NL4FC’s, 20- NP2C/B’s and 24- NP3C/B’s.

“We needed connectors that would be reliable in adverse weather conditions,” stated Jonathon Zener, Caravan Sound Designer. “We knew that Neutrik connectors could put up with rough handling, last in the long run and would be easy to install. Neutrik was the obvious choice.”

The Caravan Stage Tall Ship Theatre will be transformed into a container ship carrying a clandestine cargo of both materials and humans. The audience will experience an imagined journey with this surreal ship, departing from the shores of promise and sailing into the oceans of uncertainty, the waters of suspense and the waves of global intrigue.
