Carlsbad, CA (September 29, 2026)—Low End Candy has launched Slingshot, a reverse delay plug-in that allows DAW users to create and manipulate echoes that arrive before a sound instead of after.
While the typical method of printing a delay tail, reversing the audio, dragging it back in front of a note and then nudging it into place is straight-forward, any time a change is made to the tempo, note or arrangement, the reverse delay has to be remade. Slingshot approaches the problem by building that delay as an ordinary effect.

Users can apply the reverse delays using a number of different modes, starting with the default Aligned mode, which reports the lead-in to the DAW as latency, so the echo train lands exactly ahead of the transient and stops wherever the sound starts. Meanwhile, Live mode provides zero-latency monitoring while tracking; the resultant reversed echoes stack up and rush into the drop, built live from the user’s own audio.
Alternately, there’s Capture where users can play the sound once and Slingshot will print the lead-in as a WAV file trimmed to the transient and padded to a whole bar, ready to drag to the grid.

Other options include Feedback, affecting the number of repeats; Time, which can be set as free or tempo-synced; an ability to drag the echo train sideways to change its length, up or down to reshape the crescendo; and a choice of six (Clean, Tape, Analog, Diffuse, Ping-Pong, and Filtered) delay characters, with each repeat running back through the character.
33 factory presets are available across various categories to help Slingshot users get started.
