Spain (August 31, 2026)—Plug-in developer Codwaves has turned its Seaquake techno rumble plug-in into a free product.
Intended to help mixers add depth and power to kick drums, Seaquake sports a simple, straightforward interface designed to help users create resonant rumbles, from tight pulses to roaring tails, without the need to involve other plug-ins in the process.
The plug-in features basic controls like Length, adjusting the duration of the rumble; Dynamics which alters the weight of the rumble; Distortion which can add grit; Colour for shaping tone via filters to better match the music’s mood; and Delay.

Seaquake works with macOS 10.13+ (Apple Silicon & Intel) and Windows 10 (64-bit), and is available in VST3, AU and AAX; a standalone build is also planned. According to Codwaves, the plug-in has been tested with Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Bitwig, and Studio One to date. The company recommends 4 GB of RAM and 200 MB of disk space.

In other Codwaves news, it recently introduced BassXtend, a psychoacoustic bass translation enhancer that generates focused harmonics above the crossover. The aim is for kicks, basslines and 808s to stay audible on phones, laptops, earbuds and other small speakers without adding energy below the crossover. Accordiing to the company, BassXtend is zero latency and available in VST3, AU and AAX.
