Sydney, Australia (August 28, 2026)—Studio microphone arms are great tools, but most are clamp-based and sometimes that just doesn’t fit with your studio environment. Røde has those instances in mind with its new DS3 desktop studio arm, aimed at recording pros, content creators, streamers and others.

Updating the brand’s DS2, the new edition offers more load capacity, improved adjustability and added stability, all without requiring a clamp to be crammed on to the side of a worktable or desk. The DS3 uses a weighted base instead of a traditional desk clamp, allowing it to be positioned on a flat surface. Although it may not be clamped, it can handle more weight—crucial for pros using heavier microphones—offering a 1.5kg payload capacity.

Recognizing that the creak of internal adjustment springs will ruin a take, the DS3 also sports an integrated, precision-engineered ball head for smooth, quiet positioning; a central locking mechanism secures equipment at the desired angle in a single motion.

Currently available in black with a white edition on the way, the black variant is finished with a soft-touch silicone pad inlaid on and beneath the base, while the White variant features natural cork on both sides. Cable clips keep XLR and USB cables neatly routed and out of sight, reducing desk clutter for a cleaner workspace. A variety of 3/8″, 1/4″ and 5/8″ thread adaptors are included.

The DS3 runs US$109.
