Niles, IL (October 8, 2026)—Shure has updated its Axient Digital Wireless System firmware with its new v1.6 update, providing two new features—Channel Linking and Preferred Access Point—intended to simplify wireless deployment in complex, large-scale production environments that cover sizable distances.
Managing wireless systems for live events across broad coverage areas—parades, convention centers, etc.—is challenging in the best of circumstances. Acknowledging this, the Axient Digital update is intended to simplify receiver management and give users greater control over how supported transmitters connect to ShowLink access points.

Channel Linking lets users link receiver channels across compatible Axient Digital receivers, including AD4Q, AD4D, ADX5D, and the ANX4 scalable receiver operating in Axient Digital mode. Once linked, secondary channels automatically inherit key settings from primary channels, including frequency, transmitter registration, encryption information and channel naming. This automatic change helps streamline deployment and system maintenance across distributed and redundant receiver networks.

Meanwhile, Preferred Access Point aims to provide users with more control over ShowLink operation in complex wireless environments. In systems with multiple AD610 access points, users can direct supported Axient Digital transmitters to a preferred access point, making ShowLink control more predictable for large venues, distributed antenna deployments, and productions that need greater control over wireless system behavior.
Axient Digital v1.6 is available now and is downloadable via the Shure Update Utility desktop application.
