Propellerhead Announces Reason 3.0

Propellerhead Software has announced version 3.0 of their music software system, Reason.

Reason 3’s new module, The Combinator

Propellerhead Software has announced version 3.0 of their music software system, Reason. The update reportedly focuses on live playing, taking Reason from the studio realm to the live arena.

Reason 3 introduces a new module, the Combinator, which allows users to build elaborate chains of Reason devices-instruments, effects and pattern sequencers, and save as a Combi patch. It has the ability to load-up complex instruments routed through effect units and dynamic processors in one go. Additional features include out-of-the-box integration with most major control surfaces, an expanded soundbank, new browser, and MClass, a mastering suite that consists of a four-band parametric/shelving EQ, a stereo processor, compressor and maximizer.

Reason 3 is currently being beta-tested, and is expected to ship early 2005. An upgrade discount will be available for Reason owners.
