RME’s new BOB-32 ($249) is a passive universal breakout box for AES/EBU XLR or D-Sub connections. One side of the unit has eight XLR inputs and eight XLR outputs, while the other side provides two 25-pin D-Sub connectors. The box can also be “folded” in the middle, which brings all connections to one side. Pinout formats are internally switchable between Tascam and Yamaha formats.
The BOB-32 the ideal companion for RME´s HDSP AES-32, ADI-6432, Octamic-D, Micstasy and ADI-8 QS, as well as other devices that use digital D-Sub connectors with Tascam or Yamaha pinout.
