Steinberg and Yamaha Announce Cubase AI4

Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH and Yamaha Corporation announce a new, specially adapted version of the Cubase music production system that will be included in Yamaha’s digital music production hardware. Cubase AI4 is based on the latest generation of Cubase and provides close integration between Yamaha hardware and Steinberg software.

Cubase AI4 has the Cubase 4 audio engine, offering audio recording and editing on 48 audio tracks, MIDI sequencing on up to 64 MIDI tracks, 25 VST effects plug-ins, including 15 new VST3 plug-in effects, and a HALion One sample player featuring selected waveforms from the Yamaha Motif synthesizer workstation. It also offers 20 MIDI music styles and 480 audio drum loops. Users of Cubase AI4 can upgrade to Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4.

Advanced integration functions include Studio Connections technology, which recalls settings for Yamaha digital audio hardware with a single mouse click. Integration with the new Motif XS provides automatic VST audio and MIDI connection setup. The full versions of Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4 offer these integration features with Yamaha hardware out of the box.
