Winners of Avenged Sevenfold’s ‘Producer for a Day’ Contest Are Announced

Warner Bros. Records’ Avenged Sevenfold have announced the winners of the “Producer for a Day” contest launched on June 21 via the band’s Website, MySpace page and YouTube.com. More than 100 A7X fans submitted two-minute video shorts exemplifying their creativity, passion and dedication to the band in order to win a chance to be A7X’s “Producer for a Day.”

“We ran this contest because we wanted fans to see us work in the studio,” says Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows. “We wanted them to be part of the music we create. Although we would have liked to, we couldn’t fly every fan out, so we gave a few fans that showed their dedication a glimpse of how we make a record. It’s as much a pleasure for us to have them be part of this process as it is for them to be here.”

Avenged Sevenfold selected two winners to fly to California: Christopher Guinn from Providence, R.I. and Daniel McLaughlin from Oronoco, Minn. will spend the day in the studio with the band on Wednesday, July 11.

“Being an Avenged fan has this feeling of fraternity about it; it really is like a family in a way,” says Guinn. “Being able to say I was a part of their forthcoming album will just further that feeling of my being a part of the A7X family.”

The winning video shorts from Christopher Guinn and Daniel McLaughlin are on YouTube.

Avenged Sevenfold’s first DVD release, All Excess, is due out on July 17. The band’s studio album is slated for an October release.
