MINNEAPOLIS, MN; MAY 31, 2012 –The Hideaway Studio of Minneapolis, MN, a premier music recording facility serving the Minneapolis, MN market and such artists as Snoop Dogg, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Cloud Cult, The Matches, and Doomtree, has upgraded some of its gear to boost its mixing and production workflow.
Remaining on the cutting edge of technology, the studio recently replaced its A Control Room AVID Pro Tools Accel 3 with a new AVID Pro Tools HDX system. Operating on an Intel 2 X 2.8 Quad Core Mac Pro with 14gig RAM, its new AVID Pro Tools HDX system allows for bigger, better and faster mixes with 256 tracks (up to 768) and double the I/O per card, as well as four times more ADC. It also offers higher resolution sound and more headroom, the opportunity for increased power and track counts through additional cards, and supports the AAX plug-in format for better workflow and sound parity with native systems.
In conjunction with upgrading its A Control Room gear, the studio also underwent an equipment facelift within its B Control Room to breathe new life and power into its mixing and production, transporting its A Control Room AVID Pro Tools HD 3 Accel system to its B Control Room to replace its existing AVID Pro Tools 2 Accel. The AVID Pro Tools HD 3 Accel supports extremely large and complex sessions, leveraging the power-on-demand capabilities of three dedicated DSP cards along with the processing resources of either a Windows- or Mac-based computer for high performance, low latency, guaranteed track counts, and extended plug-in processing power. Additionally, it acquired a Quad Core 3.0 Intel Xeon processor Mac Pro for working with the upgraded AVID Pro Tools Accel 3 system.
“The Hideaway Studio is committed to providing our clients with superior quality and services, which is why we are always upgrading our apparatus and ensuring that we are on par with today’s sophisticated technology standards,” says The Hideaway Studio Founder Joseph Mabbott. “In undergoing this upgrade, we have enhanced the power of our systems and some of the features of our new software, which has enhanced our mix down process. The speed capabilities of these new systems have made a huge difference in the flow and production quality of our session, saving out clients time and money.”
Several of The Hideaway Studio clients say they are noticing the great benefits stemming from the recent equipment upgrades. “Whenever you are working on a project in a studio, you realize that any studio time spent means money spent,” explains Doomtree Producer Lazerbeak (Aaron Mader), who recently mixed his 20 track record, LAVABANGERS, at the studio with Mabbott. “The beauty of The Hideaway Studio’s upgrades is that they help reduce the amount of time that we as artists have to spend in the studio without compromising high production performance and results. It provides greater recording, mixing and production quality that is achieved through a more efficient, expeditious workflow process, sparing us the expense of needing additional time and money in the studio.”
Nestled along the Mississippi in Northeast Minneapolis, The Hideaway Studio is one of the Twin Cities’ premier recording and production studios.
