JBL is once again supporting the METAlliance (Music Engineering and Technical Alliance) in presenting the second In Session event, February 19-20, 2011 in NYC at famed Avatar Studios. “In Session with The Guys” attendees will participate and interact with the METAlliance founders in live recording and mixing sessions. JBL 6300 Monitor systems will be used throughout the event, and free JBL RMC(tm) Room Mode Correction Calibration Kits, $270.00 value, will be given to those who register by January 18, 2010.

The inaugural 2010 METAlliance event in Hollywood at the historic studios in the Capitol Records tower was a resounding success. Participants

got a close-up look at basic tracking and mic techniques; in the separate mixing sessions they were engaged in the processes in significant detail and participated in critical listening.

METAlliance co-founder Frank Filipetti remarked, “JBL consistently supports our efforts to spread awareness in our mission to promote better quality in audio. They’ve been with us every step of the way, and we’re honored to have them with us again at Avatar in NYC this February. George Massenburg and I want JBL LSR-6328’s and a 6312 (sub) in our ‘Mix in the Box’ suite.”

Peter Chaikin, JBL Pro, Director of Recording and Broadcast Marketing, added, “We’re proud to support METAlliance and these workshop events are a great way to demonstrate our monitors in a number of demanding working situations with a diversity of requirements.”

The METAlliance has certified the award-winning JBL LSR6300 Series professional loudspeakers, which deliver the exceptional accuracy and performance needed in demanding music, post audio and broadcast applications. Each model provides ultra-flat response, extraordinary SPL capability and technology to optimize performance in any size production environment. JBL RMC(tm) will be given to those who register by January 18, 2010.

The METAlliance offers a unique opportunity to experience living history while learning invaluable techniques with the legendary master craftsmen who founded the METAlliance. Every attendee will participate in four sessions, each designed to provide different experiences in the recording process and led by the founding members. Space is very limited.

• Session One: Phil Ramone and Al Schmitt
• Session Two: Elliot Scheiner and Ed Cherney

• Session Three: Chuck Ainlay
• Session Four: “In the Box” home studio mixing with Frank Filipetti and George Massenburg in a home studio environment

Amenities include catered food and a special private gathering February 18th for those who register by January 18, 2011.
