Burbank, CA – WNAMM Booth 6979, Hall A… Mojave Audio, a company founded by David Royer (known for his work with ribbon microphones), proudly announces the new MA-50 Large-Diaphragm Transformerless Condenser Microphone. Designed to produce the clarity and realism for which Mojave microphones are widely recognized, the new MA-50 outperforms competing well-known transformerless microphones costing much more.
Mojave Audio’s new MA-50 is the perfect microphone for professionals and aspiring professionals alike. Utilizing the identical capsule as found in the company’s highly acclaimed MA-200 and MA-201fet models, the MA-50 handles the fastest transients with ease—all the way up to 140dB. The microphone’s superior transient response and its ability to handle high SPLs make the MA-50 an extremely versatile model: one that is well suited to capturing vocal performances, voiceovers, acoustic instruments, Foley / ADR, as well as percussion instruments and use as drum overheads.
The new MA-50 utilizes a large-diaphragm, fixed-cardioid polar pattern design. The microphone incorporates a 3-micron capsule, employs transformerless circuitry that results in an extremely low noise floor. Combines with its fast transient response and high SPL capabilities, the MA-50 offers a basic—yet elegant—design that makes it ideally suited for use in both professional and home studio environments.
Dusty Wakeman, President of Mojave Audio, commented on the company’s new MA-50 Large-Diaphragm Transformerless Condenser Microphone, “The new MA-50 is an incredibly versatile mic that continues the company’s new design aesthetic as premiered by our recently introduced MA-1000. The combination of low self-noise, great transient response, and high SPL handling capability make this mic an excellent choice for a wide range of recording applications. As a result, it’s equally at home in the professional studio as it is the home project studio. I genuinely believe the combination of features and affordability will make the MA-50 one of our most popular microphones going forward.”
The Mojave Audio MA-50 carries an MSRP of $495 and will become available late Q4, 2015. The microphone ships with a shock mount that provides excellent isolation characteristics.
