About the Career Trainers:

Shawn Simpson is a Nashville based audio engineer and producer with over a decade of experience in the Music City community. His credits include The Dixie Chicks, Lonestar, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Hank Williams, Jr., and many others. Shawn’s abilities as an engineer and producer along with his skills as a Pro Tools operator have garnered him acclaim from all quarters over the years. He was originally tapped to lead the development efforts for a revolutionary Pro Tools training program in 2000. He later contributed to the development of Digidesign’s Certification program as one of its first instructors.

Mark Hornsby has earned a solid reputation over the years as an award-winning engineer, producer, and certified Pro Tools expert, guiding artists and helping them bring out their unique sound—be it country, gospel, barbershop, blues, rock, Latin, or anything in between. His resume reflects that diversity, and includes entries with artists ranging from Jon Anderson (Yes) and New Found Glory, to Travis Tritt and Steve Winwood. Recently, Hornsby re-recorded a Genesis classic, “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway�, at his own Java Jive Studio in Nashville, featuring some of Music City’s best players. As a sought-after consultant and sound designer, he has his expertise to a variety of high-profile audio technology companies such as IK Multimedia and Sonic Reality; the “Studio ProFiles� library he co-produced for Sonic Reality will be released at the 2009 NAMM Show. Ed Seay is a renowned mixing engineer with over three decades of experience in various genres including Country, R&B, Christian, Pop, Adult Contemporary, Dance, and Rock. He mixed the first #1 song on the country charts in Pro Tools. He has a wealth of experience having worked with high-profile artists including Blake Shelton, Martina McBride, Ricky Skaggs, Hank Williams, Jr., Paul Davis, Collin Raye, Pam Tillis, Melissa Manchester, Ricky Skaggs, and John Prine’s Grammy-winning, “Fair & Squareâ€?, among others. He has numerous Gold and Platinum Albums and several dozen songs that have reached #1.
