Submissions for the 71st Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards Open September 1st

HOLLYWOOD—The Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) today announce that submissions for the 71st Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards will open Thursday, September 1, 2023. The Golden Reel Awards honor outstanding achievement in sound editing in categories spanning feature films, long-form and short-form television, animation, documentaries, games, and student work.

The 71st Annual Golden Reel Awards will take place on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. 

71st Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards Key Dates:

  • Friday, September 1, 2023 – Submissions Open (All Categories)
  • Tuesday, October 31, 2023 – Verna Fields Student Award Submission Deadline
  • Tuesday, December 19, 2023 – Submission Deadline (All Other Categories)
  • Tuesday, December 26, 2023 – Nomination Voting Begins
  • Monday, December 31, 2023 – Eligibility Period Ends
  • Monday, January 8, 2024 – Nomination Voting Ends
  • Monday, January 15, 2024 – Nominees Announced
  • Sunday, January 21, 2024 – Blue Ribbon Voting Opens
  • Thursday, February 22, 2024 – Blue Ribbon Voting Ends
  • Sunday, March 3, 2024 – 71st Annual Golden Reel Awards @ Ebell Theater of Los Angeles
