NAMM 2019: UK Sound Previews 1U Rack, 500 Series and Desktop Mic Pre Versions of Classic 1073 Preamplifier

Thursday, January 24, 2019 — Anaheim, Calif., January 24, 2019 – At the 2019 NAMM Show, BAE Audio subsidiary UK Sound [ACC North, Booth 15721] will preview three new, lower-cost versions of its venerable 1073 preamplifier. The new UK Sound products, which include a 19”, 1U rackmount 1073, a 1073 MPL 500 series unit and a 1073 DMP (desktop mic pre), are set to redefine ‘sonic ROI’ in a market flooded with competitively priced options that often lack authentic sonic character and build quality. Each new UK Sound will be meticulously assembled at BAE Audio facilities in California and adhere to the company’s rigorous performance standards.

The new 1073 units will add to UK Sound’s compelling line of affordable, authentic-sounding analog gear — which already include the 1173 preamplifier/compressor and the176 and 276 FET compressors. This past July at Summer NAMM 2018, UK Sound was selected as a ‘company to watch’, with Vintage King’s Matt Knobel effusing “This is going to revolutionize at lot of home studios.”

“Two years ago, we introduced our first UK Sound product with the promise of delivering authentic sound character and superior build quality at an affordable price — this was the UK Sound 1173,” commented Mark Loughman, President of BAE Audio. “I am thrilled to see our UK Sound portfolio grow and become a staple for project studios and musicians all around the world.”

TEC Award Nominations and Royaltone

In addition to previewing compelling new products to its UK Sound lineup, BAE Audio has received TEC Award nominations for the fourth consecutive year. As in prior years, the Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award ceremony is set to take place at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel’s Pacific Ballroom during the 2019 NAMM Show. BAE Audio products — including its Royaltone guitar pedal, 500C compressor and the PDIS direct injection box are featured in the categories of Music Instrument Amplification & Effects, Signal Processing Hardware and Production Essentials respectively.

Of particular interest to guitarists, the new Royaltone guitar pedal will be on display for the first time at NAMM 2019. Royaltone builds on the success of its Hot Fuzz distortion pedal — which has since become a go-to stompbox for studio rats and session musicians around the world. Royaltone harkens a lost era of ’70s inspired fuzz tones, all captured in a rugged stompbox built to withstand the rigors of touring or the studio. The Royaltone further explorers the possibilities of 70’s era vintage English fuzz circuits in a dual-stomp format featuring powerful in-series 3-band tone circuit.

The Royaltone’s fuzz imparts an instantly recognizable spitting, buzzy grit that cuts right through even the densest mix. Two distinct switches on the unit engage either the tone or fuzz circuits. With the tone switch engaged, users can access and adjust a full frequency range with dedicated knobs for bass, mid and treble. Meanwhile, the fuzz circuit knobs consist of attack and level — providing exactly the right amount of required boost and compression.

During NAMM 2019, BAE Audio and UK Sound will be located at ACC North, Booth 15721. For more information please visit http://www.baeaudio.com/
