Vintage King Audio and the NAMM H.O.T. Zone have teamed up to produce a very special panel discussion to ring in the new year of pro audio.  “Meet the Makers” takes place at NAMM 2015 in Anaheim, California, with a panel that features breakthrough product developers discussing their technology in various categories including outboard gear, monitors, microphones, digital design, and more.

The hour-long discussion will be moderated by Grammy Award-winning engineer and producer, Jack Joseph Puig, leading a panel of four highly distinguished audio professionals known for their inventive designs and impeccable craftsmanship. This panel discussion will be a dynamic highlight of the NAMM Show 2015, and takes place on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 4PM, in the Anaheim Convention Center.

“The ‘Meet the Makers’ panel really epitomizes the goals of the H.O.T Zone,” commented event producer David Schwartz. “Learning from top pros about what goes into the creation of leading edge audio technology.”

Panelist: Thomas Barefoot – Barefoot Sound
At age 13, Thomas Barefoot taught himself how to build guitars and amplifiers using salvaged parts from around the neighborhood. The developer then set his sights on creating a cost-effective, high-quality speaker that could transcend the need for multiple types of monitors. The result is a monitoring solution that has turned the industry upside down, first with the creation of the MiniMain12, then again with the MicroMain27, MicroSUB and MicroMain35. Proving himself once again with the MicroMain45, Barefoot has shown that his brand is at the forefront of multipurpose monitoring solutions. www.barefootsound.com

From GAMA mic preamps and summing/monitor controllers like the Equinox to the Dual Vandergraph and Mastering Compressor, Shadow Hills manufactures hardware that lets engineers truly latch onto the content of their recordings. www.shadowhillsindustries.com

In 2001, recording engineer Steven Slate created his first drum sample. Today, Slate is the CEO of two companies, Slate Pro Audio, a drum software and boutique hardware brand, and Slate Digital, which is a partnership with expert DSP algorithm designer Fabrice Gabriel. In 2014, Slate Digital revealed one of its most exciting products to date, the Virtual Microphone System, which promises to model dozens of vintage microphones via digital modeling. It is due out in early 2015. www.slatedigital.com
