Violet Audio’s new passive volume control, M-Patch ($179), is acompact half-rackmount-sized passive volume control and patch controldevice that is geared for use with mixerless DAW and nonlinear videoproduction environments, as well as for stereo level control solutionfor any monitoring or distributed sound application.
The M-Patch’s rotary controls allow precise level adjustments fortwo input sources. The M-Patch features completely balanced operationwith its combo XLR/TRS input jacks and XLR outputs, and can also beused in unbalanced applications with the RCA inputs provided on therear. Two stereo output channels are provided (A and B) with a selectorswitch on the front panel. Other features include independent aux andmain input rotary volume control, balanced and unbalanced input (XLRand RCA), A/B output pair selector, mono/stereo switch and a muteswitch.
