Nashville, TN (August 10, 2015)—Nashville’s unique emphasis on live tracking, in the studio, with a full band playing off one another, will be the topic of the session, “Tracking Live – At Home and In-Studio,” part of the day-long Mix Nashville event to be held on August 29, featuring a talented and experienced team of panelists.

Kevin Becka (Mix magazine Technical Editor and Co-Director of The Blackbird Academy) will lead the discussion, with panelists Steve Marcantonio (Engineer—John Lennon, Rosanne Cash, Alabama, Band Perry, Cheap Trick), Jonell Polansky (Studio Owner, Engineer—Mandy Barnett, Colin Raye, Ty Herndon, Rebecca Lynn Howard), Dan Rudin (Producer, engineer for music, film and video games and Craig Alvin (Engineer—Lady Antebellum, Amy Grant, Will Hoge, Tim Montana and the Shrednecks, Vanessa Carlton, Erin McCarley, Hanson). The multifaceted panel will cover tracking bands, studio musicians and orchestra, beginning with pre-production and carrying through to the full-on tracking dates. The impact on tracking of trends in DAW-based recording and of the dwindling options in commercial recording spaces, alongside the rise of personal production and home studios, will be considered.

Mix Nashville 2015 is a production of Mix magazine in conjunction with sister title Pro Sound News and with the AES Nashville Section (producers of the Nashville Recording Workshop + Expo events series), to bring a unique local slant to a global recording industry. Mix Nashville will take place at the newly refurbished facilities of global touring giant Clair Southeast and the brand new stages and production rooms of The Blackbird Academy. In addition to the main stage program content, manufacturer presented master classes and product demos will run throughout the day.
