Las Vegas, NV (August 13, 2013)—More than 50 Fulcrum Acoustic Prophile S loudspeakers were installed at the outdoor pool venue Daylight/Eclipse at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Owned by The Light Group, Cirque Du Soleil and MGM Resorts, the 52,000 square foot venue offers an outdoor setting for performances and guests. However, dealing with Vegas weather conditions, and creating an audio system that satisfied the needs of performers and patrons of the club while not infringing on other nearby hotel guests, were key challenges at Daylight.
John Lyons Systems opted for the Fulcrum Acoustic system, using multiple near-field speakers to cover the venue and minimize audio bleed outside of the club. The main stage speaker cluster, comprised of Fulcrum’s AH65 loudspeakers, was also angled sharply downward, focusing sound on the dance floor and reducing audio intrusion into hotel rooms.
To battle the harsh conditions of the Las Vegas desert, Fulcrum Acoustic provided a number of customizations for the loudspeakers installed in Daylight. All four of the Fulcrum Acoustic models on the project (AH65, US221, Prophile S, and US212) were weatherproofed.
