Mix Presents Sound for Film: And the Award Goes To…
Spectre
This is Bond at his best, from the locales to the action sequences to the electronic gadgetry. With director Sam Mendes at the helm, it is Bond for 2015—energetic yet calm, dynamic yet in-your-face, real yet fantastical. The action, as always, never seems to let up, which can be hard in a sound track in that you have to give the audience room to breathe. The veteran sound team, which includes Academy Award winning supervisors Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers, along with an A-list re-recording team of multi-Oscar winning Scott Millan and Gregg Rudloff, does just that, ducking under the soothing and sometimes frenzied Thomas Newman score. Great dynamics throughout, and that’s not easy.
