JBL VTX A Series: The Making of a New Line Array Loudspeaker System

George Georgallis, product manager of JBL's A Series, and Daniel Reed, FOH engineer for The Kid LAROI, discuss the benefits of a VTX A Series system.

With the launch of the VTX A6 loudspeaker and its companion B15 subwoofer in late July 2022, JBL Professional put the final element in place for the completion of its new, completely re-engineered, flagship, large-scale line array loudspeaker system. In this special presentation, George Georgallis, product manager of the A Series line, which was first introduced in 2017 with the debut of the A12 and continued with the A8 and B18 subwoofer in 2018, details the new technologies and the system-conscious approach to developing a modern loudspeaker family of products, including everything from the incorporation of a new compression driver to the fine details of rigging and packaging—all to make life easier for road crews and installation professionals alike. He is joined by front-of-house engineer Daniel Reed, currently on tour with The Kid LAROI, who lends insight into the multiple benefits of mixing for playback on a VTX A Series system, especially when faced with an all-new, sometimes challenging venue night after night.
