Belgian Bells Ring with Community

The sound of the traditional carillon bells can be heard again in Namur, Belgium via an audio system designed and installed by audio specialists Live 4 Life, and commissioned by the Alderman and Officers of Namur.

Namur, Belgium (October 9, 2014)—The sound of the traditional carillon bells can be heard again in Namur, Belgium via an audio system designed and installed by audio specialists Live 4 Life, and commissioned by the Alderman and Officers of Namur.

Placed on the roof of the City Hall, four Community RSH-462 loudspeakers broadcast short extracts from Li Bia Bouquet, the anthem of Namur. The schedule of play is phased throughout the week to play longer on market day, and less on Sundays when it could disturb the residents.

An InOut RePlay R-01E is used for content and scheduling, while digital processing and loudspeaker management is provided by a Community dSPEC226 loudspeaker processor The Focused Array RSH-462 loudspeakers are driven by two t&mSystems SP1600 amplifiers.

Olivier Massart of M-PRO BeNeLux BVBA, Community’s distributor, commented, “The system runs automatically and the sound is loud and clear. It perfectly provides the sound of beautifully tuned bells and is greatly enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.”
