Allen & Heath will unveil a new addition to its installation product range at the 119th AES Convention (booth #237): the GR2 1U rack- or desk-mount 9-input, 4-output analog zone mixer.

Allen & Heath will unveil a new addition to its installation product range at the 119th AES Convention (booth #237): the GR2 1U rack- or desk-mount 9-input, 4-output analog zone mixer. With six mic and three stereo line inputs, two zone outputs (one stereo, one mono) and a mono aux output, the GR2 has been designed for installations in the live entertainment and conference A/V sectors.

The GR2 allows all settings to be configured from the front panel preset switches and trimmers. Installers can configure key functions such as paging facilities, 3-band mic EQ including HPF, 2-band stereo output EQ and auxiliary output with LPF option for sub-bass, for example. If required, user controls can be hidden with tamperproof plugs to keep things simple for non-technical operators. Day-to-day functions such as source selection and volume can be controlled on the front panel or via several remote-control options using standard Cat-5 cables.

The GR2 features a combination of XLR, RCA and screw terminal connectors for pre-wired installation and to expand capacity by linking another GR2 unit. Two RJ45 sockets provide connections for remote mic priority, mute switching, page selection and alarm override.

Remote-control capability is via potentiometer/rotary switch wall plates, third-party systems such as AMX or Allen & Heath’s PL-12 wall plate and optional IR PL-5 hand-held remote.
