VTG, the parent company of Horizon Music Inc. and Rapco International, will introduce its new Dura-Cat durable CAT5e cable at Winter NAMM 2005 (Rapco Booth #5968 in Hall B, and Horizon Booth #4750 in Hall C). The wire can be ordered terminated with Neutrik EtherCon Series housing for RJ45 connectors.
Designed for audio/data environments including connectivity between digital audio equipment such as digital snakes, consoles, amps, etc., the Dura-Cat Durable CAT5e cable offers stranded conductors for patching up to 66 feet and solid conductor cable for permanent link up to 100 meters. The cable can support IEEE-802.3 standards with data rates up to 1,000 Mbps and FireWire 1394b-2002 implementations for FireWire using 5e cabling.
Dura-Cat is built with a sturdy PVC outer jacket with an outer diameter of 0.34 inches for added durability and terminated with equally rugged Neutrik EtherCon Series for RJ45 connectors. The cable contains 4-pair 24 AWG (7/32) TC UTP wire and is ETL verified to Category 5e yielding 8dB minimum improvement in near-end crosstalk vs. standard Cat-5 and 5 dB better than Cat-5e.
Enhanced performance parameters of electrical characteristics proven to exceed TIA/EIA 568-B Category 5 requirements include near-end crosstalk, characteristic impedance, RL, attenuation and delay skew. Electrical characteristics also exceed Category 5e requirements including Power Sum NEXT and Far End Crosstalk -ELFEXT and PS-ELFEXT.
The EtherCon connectors from Neutrik provide the housing for RJ45 data connectors for data transfer in harsh and demanding applications. Receptacles comply with Class-D according to TIA/EIA 586B and ISO/IEC 1801 standards and are applicable for Ethernet networking.
