Marquart Picks API for Private Facility

Producer Michael Marquart recently purchased an API Legacy AXS console for his private recording studio in Virginia Beach, VA.

Virginia Beach, VA (September 6, 2017)—Producer Michael Marquart recently purchased an API Legacy AXS console for his private recording studio in Virginia Beach, VA.

Vintage King Audio worked with Marquart, who also has the multi-room Windmark Recording studio in Santa Monica, CA. “I’ve used API gear in my studios for the last 25 years or so,” Marquart said.

“I was originally looking for a Neve 8014. I have one in my Malibu studio and asked Vintage King to find me another one, but they only had an 8058. Jeff Leibovich suggested the API and I’ve always been a big fan of API’s mic pres and the 550A EQs. Now I get all that and a lot more in a large format desk.”

Vintage King Audio consultant Jeff Leibovich commented, “We began discussing trying to find an API Legacy since Michael had owned a 1608 and knew the sound of API. This was a great opportunity for him to continue with that great sound on a large format console with support just down the interstate from his East Coast studio. Michael took a test drive with the AXS at the API factory and purchased the console shortly after.”
