28th Annual TEC Awards Nominees for Outstanding Creative Achievement

The TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio based in Walnut Creek, Calif., has announced the nominees in seven categories of Outstanding Creative Achievement in sound production for the 28th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, to be held at the Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, Calif., on Friday, January 25, 2013. The TEC Awards are presented annually by the TEC Foundation, and is the professional audio industry’s most prestigious recognition of outstanding achievement, product innovation and sound production.

The Creative Achievement Nominees join the nominees in 20 categories of Technical Achievement announced in September, and comprise the producers, engineers, sound designers and editors, studios, tour companies and others behind the sound of diverse entertainment media. The nominees for Interactive Sound Production will be announced at a later date, and will complete the 28 categories of 2012 TEC Awards Nominees.

Nominations were made by a select panel of 130 professionals in numerous audio specialties, who chose among a wide variety of projects released during the eligibility year of September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012. Online voting will begin in November among members of industry organizations and qualified professionals subscribing to audio and music products trade publications including Mix, Pro Sound News and Pro Audio Review.

Awards for both Outstanding Technical and Creative Achievement will be presented at the 2013 NAMM Show, along with the presentation of the Les Paul Award to renowned musician Pete Townshend and the induction of Record Plant Studios President Rose Mann Cherney to the TEC Awards Hall of Fame.
