IK Multimedia is now shipping SampleMoog ($299), the Moog Synth Anthology Virtual Instrument. SampleMoog is the first release in IK Multimedia’s new Sonik Instruments range, and was developed in a cooperation between IK Multimedia, Moog Music and Sonic Reality. SampleMoog is a 16-part multitimbral sample-based virtual instrument that is available as a DAW plug-in and as a stand-alone application for VST, Audio Units and RTAS on the Mac and PC.
Sixteen Moog synthesizers were sampled and programmed by IK and Sonic Reality’s sound designers. SampleMoog offers 4 GB of samples, comprising more than 600 multi-sampled sounds with more than 1,000 preset patches. It has basses, leads, pads and effects from instruments including the very first Moog Modular systems, Minimoogs, Taurus bass pedals, Polymoogs, Memorymoogs, the Etherwave Theremin and the Minimoog Voyager.
SampleMoog is based on the SampleTank engine, which includes physical modeling effects and IK’s exclusive STRETCH, and offers proprietary features such as one-click sound browsing, multiple synth engines including the ability to harmonically manipulate waves in real time, built-in vintage multi-effects and fast-loading samples for studio or playing live.
A $249 version is available as a crossgrade to any registered IK user as part of IK’s ongoing “Crossgrade for All” promotion. Additionally, SampleTank 2 L and XL customers will be able to download 10 fully functioning SampleMoog instruments from www.sampletank.com/STRegUsersArea.html.
