
Buena Park, CA (September 10, 2026)—Amidst a flurry of releases, Yamaha has unveiled two new digital mixing consoles—the DM5 and DM5 Compact—based around the workflow of the company’s DM7 platform. Relatedly, it has also released DM7 Series V2.0 firmware, broadening integration across the entire DM Series of products while also adding workflow updates, and further introduced three RUio Series utility I/O devices to aid the connectivity of Yamaha audio systems.

The new DM5 consoles are squarely aimed at HOWs, corporate AV, live sound and the like. The DM5 is a dual-bay 60-channel console with 26 faders, while the DM5 Compact is a smaller, single-bay 48-channel console with 13 faders. Both consoles support Dante networking at 96 kHz and provide users with an array of processing options, routing, USB audio, remote control and Bluetooth playback.

New with the DM5 Series is Yamaha’s Glass Key technology, which combines tactile controls with dynamic labeling that changes based on workflow and system status. Additional features include customizable controls, Dynamic Mode operation, adjustable display viewing angles, and Yamaha Assist functions intended to help simplify setup and operation.
Both models feature a PY Series card slot for expanded processing and connectivity, including the new PY-DSP card, Dante, MADI, AES/EBU, MIDI, GPIO, and Waves SoundGrid integration options. Optional software packages add functionality for broadcast, theater, and conferencing applications.

The desks can integrate into existing Yamaha-centric systems, as they are compatible with Yamaha DM7, DM3, RIVAGE PM, and R Series I/O products. The DM5 Series works with existing Yamaha DM Editor, StageMix, MonitorMix, and ProVisionaire Control Plus software.
Hand-in-hand with that, DM7 Series V2.0 firmware has been released as well, adding support for DM5 and DM5 Compact digital mixing consoles, along with the new RUio1608SB-D, RUio0804-D and RUio16FLX-D utility I/O units, and the existing Yamaha DME5, DME3 and NEXO DME10 signal processors.
