SLS Loudspeakers Power the Olympics

NBC Broadcasting selected SLS Loudspeakers’ S8R Near Field Reference Monitor systems for use in the studios, press facility and VIP lounges during the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.

NBC Broadcasting selected SLS Loudspeakers’ S8R Near Field Reference Monitor systems for use in the studios, press facility and VIP lounges during the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.

The Olympic Games are broadcast by NBC in 5.1 surround sound. Engineers, members of the press and certain VIPs will be listening to the broadcast on-site courtesy of SLS speakers.

“During our broadcast, it is my responsibility to ensure that our viewers receive the highest-quality audio,” stated Bob Dixon, head of audio for NBC’s Olympic Broadcasting. “Using the S8R, I feel confident that I have the tools to really analyze our sound. When there are problems, the clarity of the reproduction helps to identify the probable cause, allowing us to resolve the problem quickly. When the sound is especially good, the S8R delivers it beautifully.”

NBC also uses SLS Loudpseakers on the Today Show.
