LECTROSONICS INTRODUCES VRM WB VENUE WIDEBAND RECEIVER

Rio Rancho, NM… Lectrosonics, recognized the world over as a leading manufacturer of wireless microphone systems and audio processing products, is pleased to introduce the company‘s latest modular wireless receiver–the VRM WB Venue Wideband Receiver. Utilizing Lectrosonics‘ legendary Digital Hybrid Wireless™ technology, the new VRM WB extends the versatility of the company‘s Venue systems while offering greater functionality that enables today‘s audio professional to easily handle any wireless environment, making it the perfect choice for touring sound, installations, and all A/V applications.

While Lectrosonics‘ first-generation Venue Series receiver covers a 50 MHz bandwidth (or two of the company‘s standard frequency blocks) and is available in eight different versions to cover the entire standard available UHF range of 230 MHz–from 537 to 768 MHz, and a second version covering 944 – 952 MHz–the new VRM WB Wideband Receiver covers the entire UHF band from 537 to 768 MHz in a single unit, and is compatible with any Lectrosonics VRS standard module or VRT tracking filtered module in the standard UHF range. The benefit to the end user is the ability to carry a smaller quantity of VRM units, along with a range of VRS or VRT modules to cover virtually any wireless situation.

The new VRM WB Wideband Receiver offers a 6-channel modular configuration that enables users to install any combination of the standard fixed bandwidth receiver modules for most situations, as well as VRT tracking filtered modules (ideal for use in congested or other hostile RF environments) for a total of six channels. The new VRM WB Wideband Receiver supports three diversity modes: Phase switched, Ratio, and Frequency. Additionally, the new VRM WB incorporates built-in zero-gain antenna amplifiers that facilitate RF signal “loop through” to additional Venue Receiver systems, DSP emulation modes for compatibility with analog wireless systems in addition to the Digital Hybrid mode, as well as USB and RS-232 computer interfaces and the company‘s VRpanel software (part of LecNet2™) for ease of programming.

Karl Winkler, Lectrosonics Director of Business Development, commented on the new VRM WB Wideband Receiver system. “Lectrosonics‘ new VRM WB represents the next step in our company‘s efforts to provide audio professionals with the most versatile, frequency agile wireless systems available for a myriad of applications. This new systems offers full compatibility with our existing hardware while covering the entire UHF band in a single unit. I‘m confident this new system will quickly become an invaluable expansion to the Venue Series product line.”

Lectrosonics‘ new VRM WB Wideband Receiver carries a MSRP of $1,660. The new system is available in February 2008.
