Martin Audio MLA System Wins PLASA And MIPA Awards

Martin Audio’s Multi-cellular Loudspeaker Array (MLA) celebrated a double success in Frankfurt this month.

Just six months after winning the top prize at PLASA’s coveted Awards for Innovation, voted by an independent panel of 16 expert judges during the trade
show at London’s Earls Court, they scooped up the equally prestigious MIPA Musikmesse International Press Award for Best PA System during the Pro Light+Sound expo in Frankfurt.

The MIPA award, voted for by more than 100 magazines worldwide, was presented to Managing Director, Anthony Taylor and R&D Director, Jason Baird by Dr. Walter Werhan, editor in charge of Production Partner, Event Partner, Professional System and Sound & Recording, during a gala awards ceremony held at the Messe’s Saal Europa. MM-Musik-Media-Verlag, publisher of these magazines, is also organizer of the MIPA Awards.

Considered as the ‘Grammys’ of the Musical Instrument / Pro Audio industry, this was one

of 40 categories recognised by the panel. Said Anthony Taylor. “It has been an incredible year for the MLA and its design team headed by Jason Baird.

“Winning the top PLASA Award was a highlight but to be recognised by the world’s press — the harshest critics of all — underpins the faith that we and our customers have in this incredible game-changing system.
