Sixteen XLD boxes a sweet addition to BarlowGirl tour

Sound installation and rental company Zeo Brothers Productions (Hatboro, Pa.) recently added 16 new XLD281 loudspeakers, adding to the already substantial inventory of Electro-Voice equipment the company uses for live sound applications.

Zeo Brothers purchased the XLD cabinets for national Christian artist BarlowGirl’s “Million Voices Tour, which ran from September 10 through mid-November. The tour also featured fellow Christian artists Jimmy Needham and Brooke Barrettsmith. The XLD boxes were a perfect fit for the two-month tour, as Joe Moser of Zeo Brothers explains:

“The tour did visit one arena, but the band usually performed in houses of worship — a perfect environment for the XLD boxes, because they provide great pattern control, high output, and precision coverage in a low-profile package that keeps sightlines open. I was at one of the shows myself, and couldn’t believe the sound quality—the intelligibility was phenomenal. All the guys at Front of House, the audience, the band — they all love the new XLDs. It was a very successful tour.

Electro-Voice Sx250 stage monitors, QRx218S subs for low-frequency support, and Dx38 processing were also used on during the tour. Zeo Brothers and Barlow Girl plan to use the same rig together in future shows.
