Ipswich, UK (October 13, 2026) — Celestion, the premier manufacturer of guitar and bass loudspeakers, is pleased to announce that the all-new G12-100 Raven guitar speaker is now officially available worldwide. Simultaneously, Celestion has launched the official Raven Impulse Response (IR) collection, allowing guitarists to access the powerful modern tonal signature of the Raven both physically in traditional speaker cabinets and digitally within their digital audio workstations (DAWs) and amp modellers.
The Physical G12-100 Raven: Heavyweight Tone, Lightweight Design
Engineered specifically for the modern heavy rock player, the 12-inch G12-100 is defined by its ability to deliver tons of tone, while remaining light as a feather. At the heart of the Raven’s design is a reimagined lightweight ceramic magnet assembly. This innovative motor structure significantly lowers the overall weight of the driver to just 2.5 kg (5.5 lb.) without sacrificing the immense magnetic forces required to drive high-gain, high-output rigs.
Built for monumental power and versatility, the Raven boasts a 100W power rating, a 2-inch voice coil, and an impressive 100dB sensitivity. It handles extreme high-gain lead lines, low-tuned riff-work, and high-headroom cleans with effortless authority. Its tonal signature offers a detailed mid-range punch, brooding highs, and a firm, authoritative low end. The treble is meticulously voiced to be articulate without ever becoming brittle or harsh.
Consistent with Celestion’s core engineering philosophy, the Raven is built for performance longevity, ensuring its powerful low end and precise top-end remain stable across hundreds of hours of aggressive stage and studio use.
The Official Celestion Raven Impulse Responses (IRs)
For guitarists working in digital environments, home studios, or performing with modern digital amp modellers, Celestion has captured the precise acoustic behaviour of the Raven across five quintessential speaker cabinet configurations: 1×12 open-back, 1×12 closed-back, 2×12 open-back, 2×12 closed-back, and 4×12 closed-back.
Accurately recorded at Celestion’s purpose-built studio facility using industry-standard microphones—including the Royer R-121 ribbon, Shure SM57, and Sennheiser MD421—each cabinet IR offers multiple microphone placement positions and mixes. This delivers the true, three-dimensional acoustic response of the Raven in any recording or live sound environment.
The Raven IRs are available for download individually or as the complete Celestion Raven IR Collection, which includes all five cabinet configurations at a significant saving compared to purchasing individual files.
“By releasing the G12-100 Raven physical speaker alongside its official Impulse Responses, we are giving players complete freedom over how they integrate this tone into their setups,” says Ken Weller, Celestion Head of Marketing. “Whether you are looking to lighten the weight of your physical tour cab without losing power, or dialing in devastating high-gain tracks in the studio, the Raven delivers uncompromising performance from the very first note.”
The G12-100 Raven speaker is now available through authorised Celestion dealers worldwide. The official Celestion Raven Impulse Responses can be auditioned and downloaded directly at celestionplus.com.
