DiGiCo, Bose Ride Into Sunset Sounds

Brooklyn, NY (August 28, 2017)—Brooklyn is always a hotbed of new music, and this summer has provided another summer concert event series in the NYC borough to showcase that talent. Brooklyn Bowl has teamed up with Industry City for Sunset Sounds, a string of events and concerts through the end of September in Sunset Park. To help give the inaugural season the proper audio kickoff, sound provider Firehouse Productions has been providing DiGiCo desks and Bose PA for the events.

For the series, Firehouse Productions has supplied a compact DiGiCo S21 digital console. Firehouse’s Tom Clark coordinated the system integration project and temporary installation of the concert system. “Courtyard 1/2 at Brooklyn’s Industry City has been a happening place this summer with all kinds of activities going on, the highlight of which is Sunset Sounds,” said Clark. “Although we have many of DiGiCo’s large-format SD-Series desks in our inventory, the S21 really provided the right blend of small size and big amenities for this concert series, which can pack up to 500 music fans into the complex’s festive courtyard.”

“The S21 is an ideal complement to our new Bose ShowMatch DeltaQ compact line array speaker system,” said Bose Professional director of Global Concert and Rental Business David Scheirman. “DiGiCo was specifically requested by the event technical team, and Firehouse agreed that the new S21 was a perfect fit for the project due to its compact footprint, high-end touring console features and audio quality.”

With FOH Engineer Dave Fine-Firesheets in charge of the mix, numerous Brooklyn-based rock, pop and funk acts have played the venue, and acts like Naughty Professor and a string of tribute acts are still due to play through the end of the season.
