NSAI Presents Song Camp 102

Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) is offering Song Camp 102, a three-day intensive program held August 1-3, 2004, in Nashville.

Song Camp 102 is a hands-on, interactive program designed to help writers of all levels improve their technique. There is no prerequisite for Song Camp 102. Fourteen professional songwriters will offer specialized classes, one-on-one and group critique sessions, and personal attention to all participants.

Faculty co-leader Steve Seskin has penned country hits such as Mark Wills’ “Don’t Laugh at Me” and Tim McGraw’s “Grown Men Don’t Cry,” while faculty co-leader Jason Blume has worked with pop acts such as Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys.

Other faculty members include Mike Reid (Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me”), Stephony Smith (“It’s Your Love,” recorded by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill), Chuck Jones (Diamond Rio’s “Love a Little Stronger”) and Doug Johnson (“I Want My Goodbye Back,” recorded by Ty Herndon). Two faculty members—BMG writer Barry Dean and independent artist Mary Gauthier—attended NSAI Song Camps before signing their respective songwriting staff deals.

Registration is $425 for NSAI members and $475 for nonmembers. The registration fee includes all classes and sessions, daily continental breakfasts, daily lunches and a special Sunday night dinner. The fee does not include lodging costs.

Song Camp registrants are invited to stay at the official hotel sponsor and event site, Holiday Inn Select Vanderbilt Hotel, located at 2613 West End Ave. For discounted rates and reservations, call 615/327-4707.
