The fourth annual TEC Awards Music and Sound Auction will launch on eBay on October 4, 2007. Presented by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio, the charity auction will coincide with the 23rd Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards, to be held at the New York Marriott Marquis October 6, 2007 during the 123rd AES Convention in New York City.
The TEC Music & Sound eBay Auction store (www.tecmusicandsoundauction.com) will feature pro audio equipment, musical instruments, software and various items for audio enthusiasts. Proceeds will benefit outreach programs of the House Ear Institute of Los Angeles—including “It’s How you Listen That Counts,” a media campaign to educate young music listeners about hearing health—and H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers), a San Francisco-based nonprofit serving musicians and the general public. Funds will also support scholarship programs for students of the audio arts and sciences.
“We encourage manufacturers, studio owners, software developers, musical instrument companies and anyone else affiliated with professional audio to consider donating to the auction,” notes Julie Clark, Insight Media Group. “It’s an extremely worthwhile cause and the online donation form on the TEC Awards Website (www.tecawards.org) makes the process very simple.” This is the second year that Insight Media Group, an online marketing services agency, is managing the auction for the Mix Foundation.
